For me, neteller was free - i didn't use instacash - and it was free to and from my bank account and to and from the poker sites - don't know why anyone would pay 8.9%.

I had asked them how it could be this way when i signed up - and they said they got juice from the merchants. This gave some comfort that they believed FTP would be around - now it is going to be a crap shoot.

When was the last time you deposited from your bank account to Neteller? I don't use instacash. Always an 8.9% fee going in. No fees between bank account and sites, and none for cashing out. But there was always a fee for depositing.

I don't mean to disagree - and its kind of pointless since neteller is out anyway - but when i used them to deposit - they said i could use instacash - for a fee (funds available almost immediately) - or reqest an eft from my bank account - wait 4-5 business days and it would be there at no charge - that's the way it worked for me.

The last time i had to deposit was approximately march/april of 2006.

What is the basis for neteller to just give up, credit card companies to ban gambling transactions, CHEXX to pull out of the gambling market, banks to deny check deposits etc. but other means are going to be hunky-dory?

[/ QUOTE ]

All of the companies you mention were created prior to the UIGEA and have ties to the US, making them extremely vulnerable to US jurisdiction.

A new company, without US ties, who sets up their payment solution outside of US control (ACH), will be virtually bullet proof.

I don't understand how this can be the case for any reasonable period of time? First of all, I am presuming that any such processor is going to be very popular if it is bullet proof as you say. Literally millions will flock to it. Secondly, they won't use it just for poker - sports betting and online casinos will be involved too. So, somehow, an offshore company will be able to handle billions of dollars in transactions from 10s of millions in the us in violation of us law - and the US gov is going to shrug its shoulders and give up. I just don't see how this will be the case at the end of the day - they've tracked down copyright pirates in russia, china etc. Do they get them all? No - of course not - but they are able to get to some of them.

At the end of the day, this has now become a priority for them - and they will find a way to block, discourage, prohibit this activity.

Umm, I am wondering if sites havent found a way to "facilitate" VISA credit/debit cards working again... It sure seems a lot of my fishy friends are depositing with those lately...
