does everybody hate a small raise to $900ish here? I'm aware there isn't much difference...just seems like the flush+pair draw might pay that off better.

yeah but it looks exactly like AA/QQ [/ QUOTE ] why do you think it looks more like AA than 33 or 66? |

[/ QUOTE ] What's the first thought that goes through your mind -- the first thought that goes through the mind of anyone who has played even a litle NLHE -- when you, as the PFR, flop a low set on an A high flop when 2 others saw the flop? (Hint: It's not "I hope this gets checked through so PP 77-KK can spike a set on the turn and stack me.") |

Could also be a weaker ace or even AK, hoping for pot control/deception on the fairly safe flop, and now hoping to charge you for the draw you picked up, or that you'll be suspicious and make a light call. No way i'm folding this, it just comes down to whether I call or shove. I lean towards call, because then he'll put more in on river.

[ QUOTE ] yeah but it looks exactly like AA/QQ [/ QUOTE ] why do you think it looks more like AA than 33 or 66? [/ QUOTE ] i'd say AA is more likely to check the flop since he has the deck crippled, whereas small sets can get action from a more likely Ax. also, AA wants KK-77 to turn a set, whereas 66 gets stacked if that happens. subtle but worth considering i think |

Ive seen a decent amount of people check AK on safe flops like this(slowplays r obv best move ever)
also I can def see villan making this raise with KJhh. your hand doesn't really look that strong to me, and if he has any idea how you play, he will never put you on AQ. also most people who will check a set are more likely to raise to something like 230-250ish than 355. I am saying this assuming villan is an average unknown, and not a good regular, or a donk. |
