The part when she was trying to pick up the lesbian in that one episode was the only part I thought was funny. The rest of it was just all over the place, just didn't connect for me.

Just saw it. I loved the whole Tab world bit with the two gay dudes constantly calling each other's bluffs and one-upping each other till they were both unhappy jerks. A great bit! And what did Sarah tell that guy crying about I guess his dad's death -- "Eww, your tears smell like cheese" or something? Sarah got outshined by the gay dudes this show, though.

Sarah reminds me a little of Jack Black sometimes. She has that odd sense of timing and an ability to keep you guessing. Usually when you get to where you're going with her schtick, it's funny. I also really like a woman who can be self-deprecating for laughs; not very many women can do that more than once in a blue moon, if at all.

The gay guys were great in this episode. I felt I was connecting with them

I agree that it is Sarah's self-deprecating comedy that makes me like her. She is outrageous. If it weren't for this fact I don't think I would like her as much. A lot of her comedy is mean-spirited and completely selfish. What makes her different is how she slams her own narcissism and gives social commentary while doing the most idiotic things. I wish I could remember some of the lines in this episode. They really made my jaw drop.

I like watching this program exactly for the reason you state above, that she keeps you guessing. Somewhat like Curb Your Enthusiasm in this respect only she is much edgier and her act is clearly farcical.

I watched this show without paying attention last week and didn't find it funny. Since a lot of people here seem to like it, I tried it again this week paying attention. It was hilarious, a lot of funny moments all around. I loved the music sequence "I wish", just writing about it makes me laugh again.
Good thing I gave the show a second chance.
