wrong. 99.99% chance that anybody strong enough to be lifting that much weight could effortlessly max out on the bowcrap machine. [/ QUOTE ] i know that i can't max out a bowflex, but i still have someone spot me if i put more than one plate on each side of the bench press |

otherwise, you'll do better to lift free weights. your little stabilizing muscles get more of a workout than they would with a universal-machine-style contraption. [/ QUOTE ] Nope. Bowflex uses cables which also engage the stabilizing muscles. |

I read that bodybuilding.com article and it is somewhat outdated and somewhat inapplicable. I'll address a few points from the article.
[ QUOTE ] In all the exercises the weight becomes heavier as you lift. [/ QUOTE ] This was true of the old Bowflex machines since they actually used bows that would flex as you perform an exercise. The Bowflex revolution has uniform resistance throughout the exercise. [ QUOTE ] Bowflex brags that their top machine can do over 90 exercises. How about if I told you I have over 50 exercises for just the chest?! I hope that drives home my point. [/ QUOTE ] This is insanity for anyone who isn't a bodybuilder. |
