Re: Whats the worst first round of a draft in any sport ever?
Bledsoe-I hate him but solid.
Roaf-HOFer Hearst-Pretty solid back, a couple PBs. Bettis-HOFer Brad Hopkins-Still in the league Robert Smith-Very good until early retirement. Stubblefield-I think won DPOY 1 year or some high honor. |

Aces,
Like others have said, the '86 draft was mostly just unlucky, and there are still some solid players in there. Chuck Person, Ron Harper, Scott Skiles, Dell Curry, John Salley.. plus, lest you not heed the words of Bill Walton, any draft that contains Arvidas Sabonis can not be the worst. |

Re: Whats the worst first round of a draft in any sport ever?
1992 is pretty much awful.
Howard-Won SB MVP but pretty much blah. Buckley-Solid CB for a while. Troy Vincent-Still in the league V. Solid. Whitfield-Still in the league. Porcher-Probowler, nothing spectacular. Dale Carter-Solid player with drug problem. |

Aces, Like others have said, the '86 draft was mostly just unlucky [/ QUOTE ] I'm not denying this. But I still think that makes it a bust of a draft. [ QUOTE ] and there are still some solid players in there. Chuck Person, Ron Harper, Scott Skiles, Dell Curry, John Salley [/ QUOTE ] Surely those are solid players. But look at 2000: Kenyon Martin, Mike Miller, Chris Mihm, Jamal Crawford, Darius Miles, Hedo Turkoglu, Desmond Mason, Quentin Richardson, Jamaal Magloire, Speedy Claxton, Mo Peterson, Primoz Brezec. These guys aren't the caliber of Person, Harper, Skiles, Salley, and Curry, but there are a lot more of them, and they all are or were solid contributors at some point in their careers. -McGee |

Re: Whats the worst first round of a draft in any sport ever?
these NFL drafts arent nearly as bad as the NBA drafts in question....there's 3 or more pro bowlers in both plus many very good players

Not saying that this is makes the 92 draft a ton better, but I think overall, its kinda hard for a single NFL first round to ever be flat out awful as you will usually get several pro bowlers in them though, looking at wiki, the 91 NFL first round was flat out awful with Herman Moore, Russel Maryland, and Ted Washington being the only players really worth a damn |

[ QUOTE ] looking at wiki, the 91 NFL first round was flat out awful with Herman Moore, Russel Maryland, and Ted Washington being the only players really worth a damn [/ QUOTE ] Alvin Harper [/ QUOTE ] as in the Alvin Harper that spent 8 seasons in the NFL with only 191 catches and 3,473 yds and 21 TDs. No, he wasn't worth a damn outside of one or two good seasons with the Cowboys. He never had over 40 catches in a season, so using him as a guy that was worth a damn isn't helping the cause all that much. I will give Eric Swann as he had a decent career, but there is a lot of crap in that draft |
