Re: Attributing Sports Wins to God
[ QUOTE ]
Makes you a dbag Also, the Colts coach saying [about both coaches], 'We're not only black, we're also Christian' is amazingly dumb. [/ QUOTE ] The reason I agree with this is that both coaches are Christian, right? Then how on earth can one attribute his win to God? Did God decide he didn't like the other guy? |

[/ QUOTE ] Ok, I really don't follow sports, didn't watch the SB, barely know who TD is (cue picture of Ogre shouting Nerds!)... Of course I have seen clips of athletes thanking God. Question is did TD thank God as in I felt his divine presence when we needed that 1st down or was it like thank you God for giving me the strength to do blah? Big difference between the two imo. |

Re: Attributing Sports Wins to God
found a quote:
"The Lord set this up in a way that no one would believe it," said Dungy, according to the Baptist Press. "The Lord tested us a lot this year, but He set this up to get all the glory." |

Re: Attributing Sports Wins to God
I commend him for not milking the "first black coach" angle despite being prompted by the interviewer. I think his responses showed a lot of class.

Re: Attributing Sports Wins to God
Saying "thank you God for this victory" or "I thank God for being on my side" or some other stuff like that is not only selfish and idiotic but also extremely annoying.
