I'd generally think that 4-betting the flop is the natural way to continue with this hand. The exception is if you think he's a very good hand reader and he sees you as straightforward and predictable, since there are a lot of players who would never check-raise less than trips there (or perhaps an oddly played AA/KK). But if that's the case you probably just want to call down rather than bet into him on the turn.

I think that you should check-raise the river, though a very, very good player might check behind with 99 there. I don't think you're going to pull off a bet 3-bet very often, FWIW.
