Is this really that dif? (The math) for those saying 215 [/ QUOTE ] No joke. 4-45 lb plates = 180+45lb bar= 225 And for the guy who asked: yes, all bars you would use for bench/ squats, etc are the same weight - 45 lb. Just the short curvy one's you do curls and stuff weigh less. |

I'm not sure how much difference it makes increasing 40 pounds from 185 to 225 vs 175 to 215. Some physics guys can weigh in. |

if you are only doing 3 sets of 5 reps at 185, there is very little chance you can do 225.
