Re: Bluffing 22
You're absolutely right it's a range.
So what hands did you include in his possible range? |

[/ QUOTE ] From his play, I thought his most likely range was mid pairs up to TT/JJ or random crap like A9/A7 or even K9/K7. I've been seeing flop minraises with these kind of hands, particularly low or middle pairs, a lot lately. |

Re: Bluffing 22
And you're probably right, statistically speaking. And he's probably gonna call with his bottom pair, no kicker.

Re: Bluffing 22
What I'm trying to point out is that an overly broad range isn't a read. I'm not saying your range isn't right, I'm just saying a range has to be narrow enough to be helpful.

Re: Bluffing 22
I appreciate your input, and you're right, generally. I do think, in this particular hand, a broad range is enough--basically, if his likely range doesn't include a Q, which IMO it doesn't, the river push gives him a very hard decision.

Re: Bluffing 22
This is really bad except for the river, which is marginally bad.

Re: Bluffing 22
samsonite,
unless you're against quite observant competition, three-barrell bluffs aren't necessary. even then they aren't really necessary: rarely you might semibluff twice then pop the river. there's not much need for it. plus if he calls you're just sick. i'd be done at the minraise against an unknown. and against better competition i'd probably not cbet, because monotone flops, like low rag flops, are an invitation to steal. matt |

If he's got any brains at all...
I like your aggression generally, and get myself in spots like this more often than I should. I guess I'm just curious why this particular hand is sticking in your craw. I'm assuming you got called, right? |

Re: Bluffing 22
A9 with As on the flop is not crap. It certainly has you way dominated.
if you are calling this flop checkraise then you should be calling with any two cards. |
