jackie wrote a TON (close to all) of the material howard did back in the day.

I think Howard is better now than back then.

QFT.

We all know Jackie was the head writer, and that Artie's role is different.

After 10 years listening to Stern w/ Jackie and 5-6 with Artie, perhaps it would be more accurate to say that the show w/ Artie >>>>>>>> the show w/ Jackie. On Satellite and off.

One thing about hearing it uncensored, you really wonder just why they(FCC) were censoring so much of it.(sure, they've lied and said it wasn't personal against Stern. Which is bull)

But upon hearing some of the stuff they had to bleep, it really makes the FCC look even more uptight than they are. But that's what happens when you have right wing christian morons running and dictating the dump buttons.

But as far as tesical radio, at least some stations play that '45 minute commercial free set of music!'--LOL AFter having sirius for awhile, you really do realize just how clogged up the radio is with commercials. Especially when you switch stations and they're ALL on commercials.

The show is great. I do think Howard has been talking about
"girl" stuff a little much. His core audience is guys and he's talking about getting married, rings, and American Idol. I hate that [censored]. Artie is why the show is funny. He talks about stuff you want to hear.

They need to fire Robin. If they replaced her with anyone the show woudl be better. Or only bring her in for the news.

Was John let go like Jackie was, and then picked up by Leno?

[/ QUOTE ]

John wasn't let go, and neither was Jackie. Jackie quit, which he admits. They tried for months to re-sign Jackie and he wanted too much money. He left because they wouldn't pay him enough. He now says it wasn't over money, but because he ws tired of getting up early in the morning for the show. The idea was to rotate comedians in and out of Jackie's chair after he was gone, but Stern liked Artie so much he offered him the job permanently.

Agreed. She really adds nothing to the show, and I don't think she could get a job elsewhere in radio if her life depended on it. But she goes back a long way with Howard so probably not gonna happen.

What I wanna know is if Howard and Robin ever got it on. Anybody know?

they put Stern on in Minneapolis. he lasted a very short time. I listened once. this is what it sounded like:

"I I I I I I I, memmemememememem I I I I I ...."

so I went back to my regular station. then when they had a commercial a half hour I went back.this is what I heard

"me me me me I I I I I me me me me."
