I see so many solid players calling every reraise with a pocket pair lately (and especially with this stacks, and PP is and easy call for him PF in this spot) that i can fold this river with only TPTK.

I really can't decide what the correct play is, but I like how villain played his hand regardless of what he has.

unless villain is second leveling us, I think he played this pretty bad. I see this line often with sets/two pair on draw heavy boards, hoping that you put them on a draw and mindlessly shove the turn. If he is semibluffing it doesn't make sense to check turn and then fire river on such a blank. Is he hoping that you check behind a set/TPTK? He is firing turn or just giving up since it looks like you have atleast an ace. He's obviously not planning c/c with a draw. He also knows that an A or KK-JJ isn't valuebetting river with these stacks after checking turn, so he has to bet. He wants to be paid off here. The exception is a very good player who is good enough to bluff more than he theoretically should when it is hard for him to rep a bluff.

I really dont think he has 77 or TT here. If hes does then I think he made a bad play by checking on the turn but got lucky no draw hit on the river. So then the only other hands your really scared of are a7,at,a3. I dont think he reaises with a3 on the flop, or calls preflop. I think AT is the most likely but still not very likely. I think he has something like KQh with a lot of outs on the flop, and is trying to push you off a hand like AQ or JJ QQ KK, hands you would have played very similar.

Why is AQs or AK not in his range?

anyways, i called and he showed JJ. Still not convinced I like my call. Does anyone ever fold to the flop bet. I think that folding every time would be bad, but is it ok every now and then (esp the first time)?
