more importantly, and this is just me, worse aces will generall check behind the river or bet small, because if they are trying to get value out of the hand, they need a hand without an ace to payoff.

thats why i think his river bet is clubs, or some other draw. or maybe the nuts.

im FAR more in favor of being the one betting 80 on the river. the check makes no sense to me. what are you trying to accomplish? enduce bluffs?

so when they do bet, CRAI? hrmm

I actually thought clubs were a very large part of his range

And obv aces

And sometimes a monster

Anyhow I thought it was close, obv, which is why I posted it. But I thought it was thin.

Anyway, I called. He showed ATo and MHIG. I wouldn't have posted this hand had he had clubs so I guess it's being results oriented.

clayton, i think your assumption that an unknown will check behind with a worse ace is flawed. it's a clear check, but i think an unknown will bet more often than check. and i don't think he'll have the discipline to fold it to the cr most of the time either.

edit to point out that i didn't see the results before i made this post.

What about b/f about 60?

You need to get value out of worse A here so you have to bet the river

again.. I think a draw is such a large part of his range that checking is correct

And if he is indeed betting worse aces than checking is definitely the best option.

I really wasn't asking about the river check, I think it's 100% standard

I agree completely. And I'm very surprised that people think either (a) that villain wouldn't or shouldn't be betting trips on the river here or (b) that a huge portion of villains aren't paying off the raise with Ax. They've got trips! That can't lose!
