seems pretty lame to mention internet poker at fraternity rush, especially your SN or some [censored]. I can't even imagine what the guys in my frat would have done if i rolled into the rush event saying [censored] about tcc16 (my name at the time).
tip to college kids with dollaz: don't make poker a big deal unless you like being expected to pay for more than your share and enjoy lots of unneccessary attention, which probably won't even get you laid because girls don't care about money in college. tc |

TC- Very true, excluding the very last part.
OP and others- 2nd semester pledges help fill each house's douchebag quota. Not that there aren't exceptions. |

It would def be really lame if that's how the conversation went. But it could have been something like, "we play alot of poker here in the fraternity house..blah blah blah. " I like to play sometimes on partystars."
" o really? I play on pokerstars sometimes too, what is your name on there" it could just have been brought up in a way that it was not that lame. |

TC- Very true, excluding the very last part. [/ QUOTE ] where i went, money mattered absolutely zero, unless you had NONE. It cost $25 for an expensive night out of drinking and that could buy you 10+ drinks. half the girls were just looking to hook up with a guy regardless, and theres really no way to tell at a college bar what someone's financial situation is. now, if you are talking about girls who are looking for serious boyfriends, money (or moneymaking potential) probably plays some role. it would take girls a few dates to even figure that out though so I contend that you could still get girls/dates without having any money, then it is up to you to impress her. the sad thing i noticed is that it usually was more about what frat you were in or what bartenders you knew than anything else. tc |

He was there for a while, the "what do you do for fun" question popped up, mentioned poker, three guys came over to me and my friend and were like "Oh man, a poker kid is here, get over there" (yeah, I grind out 10NL currently, too balla, I know). True about money not mattering that much, Gainesville is extremely cheap and as Taylor Caby mentioned, we happen to be that frat with all the bartenders/bouncers downtown so we all pretty much drink for free/cheap when we go out. My biggest college expense is the 18 dollar rounds of golf I play 4 times a week.. and weed, lol. Fraternity is Tau Kappa Epsilon for all the inquiring minds who wanted to know. |
