Alobar - quick IM revealed 2 conflicting thoughts from my buddies.

One says girl making move to wallet on first date is standard (and equally standard for guy to say "I got this"). Other has your viewpoint.

I always thought the wallet-move was pretty standard - though thinking back on 1st dates, it was more like 50/50 they did it (I mean for the ones where they were into me).

she didnt just make the wallet move, she also verbally offered.

I know lots of people think its standard or whatever. I think thats dumb tho. People should effing say what they mean. The world would be a much better place if they did. None of this fake "polite" crap. Life is hard enough as it is without trying to constantly figure out if what some person is telling you is what they really mean or if they really mean something else.

Either way regardless, I say this dude is much better off without OPs cousin if shes this butt hurt about it.

Yeah, she should have paid the whole bill...how rude! After all, he entertained her. Ass, grass, or cash...no one rides pho free.

[/ QUOTE ]

thanks to this comment I think my cousin will be creating a profile shortly...

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh, I forgot...he should pay the whole thing esp. if he is the one that asked her out...which I'll assume he did since she's traditional. It's lame otherwise. It's as easy as "naw, I gotz it." What dude would want to date a feminazi and what chick would want to date a cheap douche.

Doing the dutch thing is for steady relationships.

Was his play totally asinine???

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes.

First mistake was taking her to dinner on a first date. Too formal, too expensive. Better is something like coffee. At most, a hot dog or pizza. Specify a time limit up front of about 45 minutes.

Second, whatever they do, he pays.
