Stephen Hawking was brilliant before he became a quadriplegic. He was also producing some of the world's greatest science while he still had the function of his upper body.

[/ QUOTE ] That sounds just like "Dan" described above. The person was healthy and living a productive life, was injured or got sick, and then became a quariplegic. Do we just get rid of some quadriplegics and let some others live?

I get where you're coming from but I think you gotta pick your battles and this probably isn't a good one. And anyway, where do you draw the line. Very very few of us can survive without constant help from other people. And plenty of people do more to damage society than to benefit it, despite being perfectly able-bodied. Most of these people are respected or at least tolerated.

[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] edit: i thought of that thread maybe a week ago, about whether or not anyone knew any truly brutal/violent/evil (i don't remember the adjective) people, and one of the stories was about a guy's friend (?!) who kept brutally killing kittens.
