Hi D,

He called a large pre-flop reraise from you, and he called a large pot bet on the flop. He doesn't have fish stats, and there's no history between you. He's not in here with less than QQ very often, and if he called you this time with TT or something, it's an odd play, but after pre-flop and the flop are called by a solid player, you are not going to be able to bluff him out. I'd expect to look at a set of Jacks or QQ fairly often.

It could even be that he had KK, but viewed UTG as super-tight, so he didn't want to play for all the chips. Then when you reraise, it makes sense to let you keep the lead. His pre-flop action is a little strange for a big hand, but don't let that throw you; he is LOADED here way more often than not.

In general, you ought to lead here for 1/2 pot or 2/3 pot, and be done with it.

cero: if you bet 1/2 pot on the flop I don't think you have to be done with it, although that of course is fine too. Lots of players peel this flop with any pair for 1/2 pot. Then it sets up stack sizes perfect for shoving the turn @ close to pot.

actually the more i look at it, the more i realize how i wouldn't play AA/KK in this fashion either, sans preflop



cero - and initial raiser was nakkensam, who runs like 20/15 or something, hardly nitty, so i really doubt QQ+ flat calls here. JJ, I see your point.
