I agree with that, but after two bets this would still be -EV. The stake is part of the question I assume?

Okay - when do we account for the money you stake Kris?

[/ QUOTE ] After the session. After 1 bet if we do 1 bet, after 10 bets if we do 10 bets.

Oops! My bad, it's still negative EV:

(0.4 * -$200) + [0.6 * ($200 - $100)] = -$20 EV per bet

This is ignoring the issue of the $200 your friend got staked. If you could factor that into this, you'd stay in the black...

[/ QUOTE ] Sigh. Yes. So a one bet session is -EV. Good work. Now try with two bets.

[/ QUOTE ] No. Because you account for the staking money after the session. This makes one two bet session different from two one bet sessions.

Sigh. -$40 in EV.

I'm not accounting for the staked money at all. I'm just splitting the wins as you laid out in your post above...

[/ QUOTE ] Ok. You're not supposed to split the money until after the session.

Then we'd get this:

(0.4 * -$200) + (0.6 * $200) = $40 EV per
