Anyone saying 7'6", etc. is dumb because you still have to be very good and coordinated to make it.

Anyone heard of Neil Fingleton?

He was 7'6", a high school All-American, went to UNC, transferred to Holy Cross, and couldn't even be a reasonable off-the-bench player for Holy Cross.

God this question sucks. Even the guys that are 7' 6" have played basketball their entire life and are extremely sound on the fundamentals. I'm sure there are a few OOTers that have mad skills (including myseelf!!) but anything under 8 feet is extremely unlikely. These players are one in a million...

Being "actually" 7'6" is worse than somehow magically becoming 7'6" because you get to keep your coordination and such in this hypothetical scenario.

FWIW I was a borderline D-III player. That's why I said 7'4". That may be optimistic though.

I actually DO remember Fingleton...

exactly OP said you keep your relative strength and what not

With my relative speed and strength I could be under 8ft tall and easily be a starter.

Even without OPs hypothetical, I think anyone with decent athelticism and the ability to get up and down the court would be a shoe in at 8' tall. And the people saying youd have to be like 8'5" and what not, if you were that tall and could get up and down the court youd be the most dominant player in the history of the league

I'm pretty sure if you were 9'6" feet tall you'd be the best player ever unless you're blind and deaf, and maybe even then too.

I would have to be 13 feet tall.

And they would have to raise the net to 15 feet.

And everyone else would have to play drunk. Then I would have a shot at the bench, maybe.
