He isn't too pro-people, is he? If the corporations think he's going to go after their inflated, Bush-era profits, the New York Times, ABCNNBCBS and every paper in the nation will turn him into another Howard Dean.
On the other hand, maybe the left can use him to get votes from Latinos that wouldn't otherwise vote. Sort of like Bush with the fundies.

This may be good or bad news to you democrats/liberals out there but I am a conservative and the idea of Richardson as president frankly does not scare me the way Hillary/Clark does. This probably makes him less electable in the primaries but I think a guy like Richardson could take a lot of votes from people who voted Republican in 2000/2004. From what I've seen he has always seemed well spoken and portrays himself as a centrist Democrat(ala Bill Clinton).
He would not surprise me as a darkhorse candidate.
