I like the flop check but as others have said we need to bet this turn for a variety of reasons.

As played I think leading the river might be a good idea because I doubted he would 'bluff' w/ a hand here, although it sounds like he did.

what are the reasons of betting turn again?

the 3 didn't change anything, and I would fully expect him to check a set on the flop. Had the turn been checked through I would've definitely bet the river

and I was running about 25/22 or so in the session

This hand seems super super super super standard

Villain only has 4 combinations of hands that beat you.

i suppose if our plan for the hand is to c/c all streets and try to induce some bets from hands that we are WA of that wont call our bets then certainly there is no reason to bet. And if that's the read we have on this villain then perhaps that's the best play here.

so with that in mind the turn c/c is fine, but on the river do you think we get more value by letting a weaker hand bet or by making a smallish river bet hoping to get looked up lightly (or did our line scream strength too loudly for this to happen)?

Yeah, it really looks like he's trying to get us to fold KK here, call with AK.

Skater87 never has AK here, unless he sucks more than I think he does , so flop check is standard.

I would have bet turn, but as played, river is a [censored] spot -- you've induced a lot of bluffing, though, so you should call.
