I love Dark City, but I don't think it deserves to be on the list. I would like to ammend my list to include Hoop Dreams

Forrest Gump? Are you [censored] serious, or is OOT more retarded than usual today?

How can you diss Forrest Gump?

Forrest Gump is absolutely awful, insipid, and very dull.

Oh noes! Jenny doesn't realize Forrest is for her and sleeps around and chooses mean guys that hurt her because of her incestuous daddy and then turns to drugs and prostitution and gets AIDS, oh my!

And of course Forrest becomes incredibly successful thru never having any ideas of his own, doing what he is told, and passively allowing others like Lt Dan to manage his money and make him shockingly rich thru purchases of Apple, etc. Brilliant!

And then he knocks down the house after Jenny dies. Stupid is as stupid does...thank god there was nothing even more idiotic like Hanks teaching Elvis dance moves...

Hm - so people really like this movie? Treacly, sappy, retard running around, meets famous historical personages... good soundtrack though.

Why not?

Of all the movies in the 1990s, I like only Hoop Dreams and Goodfellas better. I think Dark City has outstanding set design/ambience. I know it has flaws, though.

I guess Fargo and Schindler's List need to be consensus top 10. I didn't like them much originally, but I watched them when I was a kid, so I will give them a second viewing. I'd put Groundhog Day on there as well.

OK, how about this:
Pulp Fiction
LA Confidential
SChindler's List
Usual Suspects
Se7en
Unforgiven
Silence of the Lambs
Goodfellas
Shawshank Redemption
The Matrix

[/ QUOTE ]

Find a way to squeeze Glengarry Glen Ross in there, and you win.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think Seven, Usual Suspects or Matrix are nearly top 10 material.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's right.

You don't think.

At all.

Matrix is easily one of the top 10 movies of the 90s without question (although it belongs in the 2000-2009 category since it was released in 1999 and most associated it with post 2000 than a 90s movie.)
