Re: Would you be willing?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Yes for both. Rationale is that the bomb is most likely going to get dropped even if I don't do it. For the second one, this girl will most likely not be raped in her life so if I can spare her it will save her from a lot of agony. [/ QUOTE ] You don't seem very anxious to stop the worst atrocity in the history of mankind from happening. [/ QUOTE ] I don't because I realize it is very probable that this will happen regardless of my actions. The same CANNOT be said of the second scenario. |

Re: Would you be willing?
Case 2. Most of you would do nothing.
2000 in New York. During a rally a group of young men decided to start molesting women. The crowd watched and did nothing. Some even cheered on the young men. A woman reported it to a nearby policeman. He did nothing. It may sound noble on a forum to protect the woman. Real life will be tougher than make belief. No one knows what they'll do until it happens. The Accused with Jodie Foster. The crowd did nothing. The truthful answer is yes, no. |

Re: Would you be willing?
[ QUOTE ]
Nielso would you rather us have laid siege to Japan and killed twice as many civillians by means of starvation/conventional bombing? Or would you rather us just leave japan alone and let them ransack the pacific rim and posibly more. [/ QUOTE ] I'd rather you not engage in immoral behaviour. If you want less atrocities to happen you may want to stop participating in them. A video, especially for you: http://thefreedomchannel.blogspot.co...nterviews.html |

Japan wasn't ransacking anyone anymore. Many believe the USA bombed Japan as a show of force for Russia. |

Re: Would you be willing?
the first question i couldn't answer. i think it would depend on my confidence in whether or not this body of people was capable of making good decisions.

Re: Would you be willing?
(This really isnt talking about the A-Bomb but more addressing the not participating in immoral actions).
Ok Nielso lets say Japan attacks pearl harbor, whats your move here, defend the country or choose not to be immoral? (dont say we shouldnt have a base there, we did and it gets attacked, whats your move) you think we should just sit back as to not participate in atrocities and see what japan does next? |

Re: Would you be willing?
Japan - Yes provided I knew the President was sane and/or had the backing of others in the White House/Pentagon
Girl - Yes I would stop it. If I only had a knife, probably not (depending on how determined they were). With a gun, definitely. |

Re: Would you be willing?
Yeah and yeah.
However, caveat. I'd drop the order and be sittin' drinking tea at Hiroshima. As for the girl. That should be bloody well unquestioned. K. |
