Also, you can get a receipt for parking and use it to park free at any other casino within 24 hours. And if you can get a Borg black card, parking is free (I believe it may be free at Taj with just a standard players card now, but that may have been part of a promotion that is now over - I'm not sure).

Taj parking is free only with the upper level cards (Bengal, President's, Maharajah).

I've been going to AC since the early 80s. AC is on a comeback.. its taken 20 years but its on a comeback. Slowly but surely it will get better.

I've been to LV a few times and there are some areas in that town where you dont want to go. Same with most larger cities.

During day try Hilton.. they actually have a window that lets the sun light in.

Borgata is great for all the reasons stated. Harrah's poker room is small but really nice. it's worth a visit. Taj needs a makeover.. bigtime.

Trop is OK but on the verge of needing a make over.

Once Wynn and the new Sands start building the other should see the light and revamp.

I think it's $.50 for 2/4, $1 for 2/6-6/12, and $2+ for higher. If you play 75/150, you get somewhere around $3-$4, but I am not too sure about that, since I don't play anywhere near that.

It's no secret that if you wonder outside of a casino (and in some other casinos), you will see slums. That said, I like some of the improvements in the newly developed outlet areas near the Convention Center where the AC expressway ends. One can only hope the improvements continue their way to the boardwalk area.

I park in the surface area of the Borg. Usually get a close spot near the entrance. It's very close to the poker room. And I've seen security on their bikes riding around monitoring the lot. I'll pay $5 for that.

If you go to a restaurant or the buffet, it's a dollar for dollar comp. Starbucks and the Cafeteria is a 2-1 comp, which sucks. I go to NOW (noodles of the world) and get a good meal for $15 comp. Or save it up when you can afford a room there.

The boardwalk is fun to kill time during the day. Otherwise, I never leave the casino.

3/6 is $0.50/hr. Also all (or at least most) of the retail stores only give the 2-1 exchange. Which is ridiculous in my eyes.

Borg's own restaurants (which are much better btw) give 1-1. Metropolitan is great and 1-1. Same with the high end dining like Bobby Flay, etc. And it's 1-1 for rooms. So if I go to cafeteria, I just pay cash.

Since most has already been said that I'd say...

Here is the link to NJ Transit's train schedules. . It's less than $15 round trip from 30th Street Station in Philly if you don't feel like driving.

Yes, the Borgata proved that upper-scale clientele can be attracted to AC, and Wynn took notice. This is the beginning of a trend. The other catalyst is that AC is the last piece of the Jersey shore where real estate prices haven't gone through the roof. It will catch up. It has a great beach, and those who can't afford other parts of the shore will discover this and buy vacation property there. There are several new luxury condo projects near the boardwalk currently being planned. Buy one now and sell it for 2X in 10 years.

Metropolitan is great

Not any more IMO. They changed the menu. It is now much more limited. My friend asked a waiter why they did that and the waiter told us that Borgata wants people to eat in their newer restaurants than the Metro. In fact, the Metro will be closed certain weeks during the week in the winter to force patrons to eat somewhere else.

The new menu and the black card discount not working in the main buffet have lessened the value of having a black card for me. The only major benefit left is free parking. Add to that the 2/5 NL not being as good as it used to be and I may play in Taj next time I go (the games may not be as good because we are not in the summer season, I understand that).

According to floor man, Trop will be making a new Poker area out on the floor with auto shufflers, many tables, etc. There is also rumour that the waitresses will be classified as 'entertainers' so that looks will count towards suitability for employment.

Interesting thing about Trop. Their 1,5,25 chips are reasonable and semi-grubby but the $100 chips are these cheap looking pieces of crap.

The 2/4 game is boring and a waste of time, the 4/8 is variable but soft, the pink chip (7.5/15) has the same level of skill as 4/8 but much more aggressive.

There seems to be some macho thing about buying in for 5 or 6 racks so players often have pyramids of pink chips in front of them.
