Re: Any hunters here?
[ QUOTE ]
I did an "Ask About Hunting" post over in the lounge... [/ QUOTE ] I'd like to read it but I don't go there as a matter of principle. |

Re: Any hunters here?
[ QUOTE ]
I've tried to get my hunter's safety course so I can be legal. It just doesn't happen. I can't find a place that they'll give me the course when I can go to it. [/ QUOTE ] I don't know about your jurisdiction, but I know where I am you can just challenge the course by taking a test. There is a government book they will give you if you want (just contact the organizational body in charge of licensing), but I just used my godfather's book from the early 70s and it did me fine. |

Re: Any hunters here?
Wish I could hunt more. Now that I am in school I am never home for most dove or quail season. Not much deer hunting in our area and I am not a big deer hunter anyway. Probably just going to hunt some of those clay pigeons over Thanksgiving.

Re: Any hunters here?
I'm not a hunter, but one of our retrievers will be hunting this fall. We have Nove Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. Despite the name, they are just as good (if not better) as upland game dogs.
A friend of ours, who is a professional hunt trainer, will be taking Dasher (so-named because he was born on Christmas Eve) hunting for the next six weeks. In return, we'll get one of his younger Tollers, whom my wife will train in agility. They'll be hunting pheasant, hopefully Dasher will bring back some for us! |

Re: Any hunters here?
Is there a lot of fun and pride in waiting around and then pulling a trigger or walking around quietly and then pulling a trigger?

Re: Any hunters here?
I would like to try hunting, but would only do it if i was walking/stalking the animal and using a bow. In fact its on my list of things to do before im 30.
I cant see the honour in sitting in a hide and sniping off a deer with a really high calibre rifle. |
