Re: Quarterback controversy Polls
The Vikings and Broncos don't warrant a poll question?

Re: Quarterback controversy Polls
Vikes...maybe.
Broncos...no way. Plummer should clearly be starting imo. Not even remotely close. |

ESPN reports Campbell is the new starting QB. [/ QUOTE ]Just came in here to report this myself....good decidion imo. Sure the Skins COULD go undefeated and get a WC, but its obviously unlikely. And even still, Campbell might be better than Brunell right now. I think they play TB next week, so thats not a bad first matchup, especially with TB coming off of a short week. At the very least, this will make the rest of the season somewhat interesting. |

Re: Quarterback controversy Polls
People who think Brees is better for San Diego than Rivers short or long term are crazy. The best you could argue is that they would produce similar results this year.

[/ QUOTE ] You think that Rivers has played better than Brees this year considering their surrounding casts? I'm kinda split on the matter, but I totally disagree that its crazy to have any opinion either way. |

Re: Quarterback controversy Polls
Tdarko,
I think this is a misconception. Leftwich is not set in stone when he stands in the pocket. I've seen him avoid enough rushes in the games I've seen to believe this. I dont know why everyone says that he can't move at all and that he is a sitting duck in the backfield, because he isn't. I honestly feel that because he is an african-american QB that happens to not be extremely swift on his feet everyone automatically assumes he is slow. He might not be running a 4.4 40 but he can definitely outrun most of the DT's in the league and I'm sure there are only a handful of DE's faster than him. Leftwich fits in the offense perfectly. Garrard's playbook is nowhere near as large as Leftwich's. It was painfully obvious in the Texans game. Now that teams have enough film on Garrard they can almost predict what the Jaguars will do, hell I can almost predict it. It is extremely frustrating to be a Jaguar fan this year, maybe that's why I'm being so argumenative about this, for that I apologize. |

Re: Quarterback controversy Polls
Just for the record, in their loss to Baltimore:
They scored only 13 points, Rivers' key interception led to a Baltimore TD, and he was 13 for 22 for only 145 yards. I'm certainly not pinning that loss on him, but its not "crazy" to think that Brees might have pulled out that win and they'd only have one loss right now. In fact: [ QUOTE ] Rivers accepted blame for a spotty showing by the San Diego offense, which totaled 67 points in wins over Oakland and Tennessee. "I didn't play as well as I need to for us to win," he said. [/ QUOTE ] In their other loss(a 3pt loss to KC), SD had the ball at midfield with 1:10 left in the game and the score was tied. Rivers was sacked on 2 of the next 3 plays, they punted, and KC went in for the go ahead score. Again I'm totally not blaming the loss on Rivers. But its not crazy at all to think that perhaps the veteran Brees throws those balls away instead of taking the sack. |

[/ QUOTE ] It was pretty clear in the Baltimore game that Marty was protecting Rivers. I think he opens it up a little bit more with Brees at the helm, and Chargers could win. Although Brees does throw interceptions with his weak arm and fumbles more than Rivers, he's tailor made for opportunistic defenses like Ravens which wait on his outs and jumps the route or blitzes and just gets a finger on him and he goes down or fumbles since he's such a puny slow ass biatch. Oh sorry. Nothing but respect for Breese, blah blah blah... |
