Why do you guys think I'm crazy? All I did was assert that "roughly 15% of the time I go to a fast food place, they try to screw me out of an extra quarter or fifty cents."

He looks kinda scared and stutters a lot, as he mumbles that it's the tax. He doesn't give me a receipt and walks away to start making a previous customer's order. He didn't give any of them receipts either.

[/ QUOTE ]Did anyone read this? Doesn't anyone play live? He is lying.

This is true... confused and mumbly-jumbly speech is usually indicative of lieing / nervousness / uncertainty. (re: slidebar bluffs in nl play)

Kurosh this whole thing is like what would happen in curb your enthusiasm. You should either:
a) Steal 35 cents worth of items from starbucks
b) Bring it up to that cashier and make a scene, yelling, and becomming irate.
c) All of the above, in that order

Do you people know what the turn-over rate is for Starbucks employees? Start looking for the 'hiring fair' notices when you visit the stores. They are always hiring. So you get noobs who make mistakes all the time. I have very often gotten free stuff at Starbucks when they mess up. The other day I got a free bag of almonds (normally 2.25) just because the cashier couldn't find the button on the register. I get free drink coupons all the time when they put foam on my requested non-foam latte. The guy got flustered when he made a mistake is all it was but what I find interesting is that this is another case of somebody who likely doesn't think twice about losing a couple of hundred to a 2 outer but can't stand the idea that he might've got cheated out of 30 cents.

By the way, OP, what is your appx. yearly Starbucks bill? Mine is about $1,000 (I'm hooked) and if a worker makes a mistake for 30 cents I don't get excited.

How much would your yearly Starbucks bill increase if a worker made a mistake for 30 cents every time you went?

My guess would be pretty close to zero.

It would increase by $78/yr. I have become hooked on the Venti Soy Latte at $4.22@. I buy 5/wk which comes to $1,097.20/yr. but you are right. They almost never make a mistake and I get a fair number of freebies.

Over the course of a year, the starbucks employee errors are likely to even out.

I have a hypothesis that men who order small peppermint mocha frappuccinos are much more likely to cause public scenes in resturants and fast food places.
