Work as in build as big pot quickly with a hand we are willing to get it in with and expect to be a favorite. I think we are ahead here very often but I once we c/r I think a straightforward player will fold worse hands and continue w. better ones (and I think the chances we bluff KK+ with a c/r is nil)

Yes. except draws.

But we have to protect our hand against freakin draws!! There couldnt be more draws out there with the pre-flop action in mind... doesnt anyone else feel like me?

If you check, call here , majority of the time your put yourself in a horrible posistion on the turn or river , unless your hand is improved.
Much prefer a check/raise or lead.
