Default Name calling

Nancy 'Bolshevik' Pelosi...

[/ QUOTE ]I recently saw a post about the "Iraqi Surrender Group", too. Conservatives find it convenient and comforting to give smearing labels to the other side and essentially be done with any debate.

BTW, it's a little amusing to see this in a thread that styles itself as denouncing shrillness.

First, amusement is a good thing and I am glad you enjoyed the humor . It is a one of the few redeeming features of humanity and gets me through the dismissal dissonance of political hooey filling the air for these last 5,000 years.

Second, you know as well as I that all sides use smear tactics.

Also, I loved using 'Bolshevik', it somehow fits, and I could not resist the temptation even if it results in some self-parody for the post (which I knew going in).

It is interesting that the subseqent exchanges ballyhooed about in this thread prove my main point in spades – yet again.

"Won't Get Fooled Again" is somehow never on most peoples radar.

I prefer Mark Levin's nick, Stretch Pelosi.

I've been to Democrat Underground many times. Without the Olympic caliber name-calling their post volume would fall to one quarter.

[/ QUOTE ]I don't disagree. I too sometimes call the British PM Tony "The Poodle" Blair. (Unfair to poodles, etc. OK.)

But, seriously, it's a practice that IMHO is more commonly coming from the conservative side, and moreover from their media. Of course, that could be my colored glasses talking. I mean...

I am actually somewhat surprised that P.E.T.A. hasn't lodged a protest against the use of this popular nickname.

I know that a thread already exists about Ms. Pelosi and her independent foreign policy institute and Syrian Fetish but I had to bump this old thread because everything I stated has come true in spades. Not that it was such a feat of clairvoyance - Political opportunists and egotistical power mongers like Ms. Pelosi are so predictable.

Added in edit: This is from one of my posts in this thread -

Don't you get it?!?! An American, who isn't President Bush or another top Republican, went to another country and spoke to their leader! IT'S THE MOTHER [censored] APOCALYPSE, MAN!
