Re: Beard Papa\'s Cream Puffs
I remember trying them when the Astor Place one just opened... I also thought that they were good but I had better. I remember the filling being too bland. It was nice and creamy but it needed to be sweeter.

I think there are 2 in LA. One at Sawtelle/Olympic and another in Hollywood. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah I knew they were Asian so I don't know why I assumed that the one in NYC was the only one. I think my dumb Chinese ex-gf told me that. Teach me to trust a communist. |

[ QUOTE ] Tank, They are so-so cream puffs. They are delicious, because they are cream puffs. But they are not as good as anything you'll get from a good bakery. [/ QUOTE ] El D - I've never had a cream puff at a bakery that is as good as Beard Papa's Green tea or vanilla bean creme puffs, and my step father was a baker. I want to visit the bakeries you visit if you can really get better, because its pretty hard to beat Beard Papa... but I'd love to try! TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] [/ QUOTE ] True dat. |

Re: Beard Papa\'s Cream Puffs
The cream puffs are awesome mostly because they are freaking huge. They are bigger than your fist. Plus the different daily flavors like milk tea/seasame are awesome. I'm pretty close to the one on Bway and 8th st.
I would avoid their other pastries like the cheesecake sticks though. |
