El Camino Real in Santa Clara is basically one long Koreatown. Yummy food.

thanks scrub.

any idea how the drive is from Santa Cruz, up 17?

I bet the beach would be a cool place to live...

[/ QUOTE ]

Horrid. Strongly discourage this if you'll be going all the way up to PA, etc. Traffic in Santa Cruz can be pretty gnarly too, I really don't see how people can live with this commute.

El Camino Real in Santa Clara use to be a scene out of American Graffiti, but now is basically one long Koreatown. Yummy food.

If I had to live in SC County at the life stage you're in, I'd probably pick Palo Alto.

You do not want to drive from SF to San Jose every morning.

You should probably get a roommate.

Million - this is true. the 101 commute during business hours to/from sanfran/sanjose is similar to atlanta I285 around 5pm. This is only based on my 3 wks out there this summer but it felt the same.

DaveR - Korean does not encompass all asian ethnicities (if that's a word?). Try Asian.

Actually, when referring to the El Camino in Santa Clara, Korean is the correct word....unless you want to lump the dot-indians in there.

But then we'd need to come up with a new word.

I personally wouldn't want to do it, but the BizDev person at one of our San Jose clients does it and claims it "isn't that bad."

17 is this insane mountain road that can get horribly backed up whenever it rains. Sections also get very hazardous on nights when the fog is particularly thick. It's one of the few highways I've ever driven on where there were sections I couldn't imagine exceeding the speed limit on.
