I live approx. 1 hour north of detorit. Im looking to play NL holdem but cant handle paying session fee's. Any suggestions?? Im willing to drive 4-5 hours for no session fee's but obv. prefer something closer. Is there anything in ohio, canada, or michigan?

eh just go to detroit. greektown prolly. the games are quite soft and there's usually a good mix of people to chat with.

I think your going to be hard pressed to find what your looking for Kash.. I'm from Grand Rapids and I've hit all the casino's in a 3 hour radius including: Greektown, Lelenau, Little River, Soaring Eagle, Kewadin Shores along with a few in Indiana and all of them are the same w/charging a flat fee instead of a rake.

OK, so I'm going to try playing the 1/2, 100max live game for an extended amount of time. I would like some tips for making atleast $8/hr at the casinos since most of my playing experiance is online where I played TAG and multi-tabled.

Game:
$1/$2 NL, extremly fishy, max buyin of 100

Style of Play:
LAG or TAG? ....the session fee is advantageous for LAG play but the players are so bad that I don't kow if there is a better style of play?

Bankroll:
Does the fact that the max buy-in is 100 instead of 200 in a 1/2 game change the br requirment?
Doesn't the session fee also increase the br requirements?

Bring many buy-ins. at least 5 or 6. Standard TAG doesn't work real well in that 50-100 buy-in game. The rediculous overbetting preflop would price all but the top 4 hands. I like a more sLAG approach myself. My stats would probably range between 20/10 and 30/15 depending on how passive the game is preflop.

I recommend buying in and just pretty much watching for at least 30 minutes. I mean, play the top 5 or 6 hands if you get them, but other than that, just check and muck. Get a feel for the table. Imagine a free money table, and you have some idea what the games are like. Try and figure out real fast if you have it in you to play that game without tilting.

Good Luck.

I thought you were talking about the $200 max game. I'm not sure that you can beat the time charge in the $100 max game over the long haul. There was no action last night at MC so I went to Greektown for the first time in months; perhaps all year. There were probably 5 or more $100 max tables and they were definitely gambling it up. There were some big pots, but not much post flop play. The game is kind of a crap shoot and you have to play it almost like you're short stacked in a tourney I think. You'll probably be playing a high variance game and that might be the best way to go. Try to accumulate chips and then sit back a little and pick 'em off.

some of the info is not correct(greektown has NL), you don't list the stakes that are spread, and you have no mention of whether the room takes a rake or time charge(which is the entire point of this thread). quit your useless spamming until you get website that actually has good informati
on.

Unabridged,
I am 6 weeks old cut me some slack please... We gladly take any advice and info on how to make the Atlas a better tool for players.
