Your GF is probably one of two types

Type 1- a good present can fix this, so go buy it

Type 2- will be insulted by present. For type 2 I would write a very long silly note about your feelings and what not.

OP, as a fellow idiot, I recommend you give her a little space. Try writing a nice note apologizing for being an idiot. Do not address the actual subject of the fight while she's upset, because you'll probably screw it up worse.

Whatever you do, don't grovel too much. This was a stupid thing to say, but if she is still holding it against you by tomorrow, she is playing the "I want to see you squirm" game. Don't allow it. As a prior poster stated. You apologized, perhaps a bunch of flowers is appropriate, but nothing more. Women like to play these games and it is critical to not humor them in the early stages of the relationship.
