I like calling the turn only if you can successfully bluff spade rivers. If you wont bother, then im not a fan of turn call. FWIW I call turn always and always push that river too, but im not sure if its a spew or not. wtv, I do it anyways.

yeah, when I called the turn i figured I would jam spades if he checked (And I didnt give him credit for being able to check a fh here if he had it).

ugly bec fishy players dont fold. just check the turn. thats a big reason why raising the flop is decent. if you're firing again on a blank turn, then i think raising the flop sucks. only fire again on a spade turn...

twp,
at the time i thought a spade draw was a decent portion of his range. Is this idea wrong? or are you saying he wont fold those spades?

he will never fold them on the turn, he may c/r them on the turn and he may call off his whole stack with one pair on the river, so you don't want to be forced to 3-barrel here if you miss. you raised the flop to try to take it down, it didn't work. you got a free card on the turn. take it. a made hand is much more likely than a draw from his flop bet. fishy players do not bet draws that often.

I think villian shows too much strength to muck this, save your funds and "tap the virtual felt"

I like postflop.

Why not raise pre? You sometimes take it down pre, and when you don't you usually get HU with the fish.

You can't realy spew pre when you open-limp after CO does.

[/ QUOTE ]

spewing is making -ev plays, so yea it is.

[/ QUOTE ]
Limping in in position with a lot behind, when you have a good line on a player is hardly spewing. If it's -EV at all, it ain't by much.
