you beat QQ. you lose to AA. oversimplified, but it seems like a 50% proposition at best, so check.

OP described the player as cautious and straightforward. i have seen players like that slow down after capping preflop and getting raised on the flop with an overpair. i'm just saying that i think it weights his range slightly more to aces than aces and queens
