Mafews is probably the single player I've railed most in the last 12-18 months. I've watched thousands upon thousands of hands of Mafews and it is very rare he's making a play like this without the goods. I could be mistaken.

He's a massive massive online winner and he maintains that by putting his money in when he's got the best of it.

I know that doesn't help with the specific hand you posted but hopefully it'll help in the future when you face another decision against Maf.

GL.

What hands do you expect to get value from on the river besides JJ? What better hands fold to your river bet HU?

you have to call, right?

if he checked trips thrice and only made a weird miniraise on the river (not even full stacks) when this one time you actually DO have an overpair, clap your hands.

WTF is with everyone saying Mafews is tight and straightforward? Have you actually played him HU or are you basing this on his full-ring play? HU he is creative and very capable of making moves, even in full-ring I wouldn't call him tight.

You have to call, but I will say that if he had trips or better he is definitely CRing the river after the turn goes check-check.
