OK great stuff, I'll try this, I was really after marinating it but this looks good.

In other news, I have a Weber, so do I cook them for a long time using little charcoal with the lid on?

I live in Japan, there is a Costco 2 hours drive away, but sod driving for 4 hours for a $4 bottle of sauce.

Yeah I'm a little confused as to what the obstruction is. If you wanted a recipe for ribs without BBQ sauce, you didn't have to make up a crazy tale about how you're out of it and there's some kind of emergency where you need to eat ribs ASAP.

if you use a good dry rub, and smoke them well (low and slow), they should be quite good without sauce. Not needing sauce is a sign of a superior rib.

I'm sure someone here knows how to do them with charcoal alone, but it's going to be very hard. I don't think it can be stressed enough that good ribs have to be cooked for a long time at a low temp.

Klompy, Khaos:

"he's brought up that he can't ge bbq sauce, but it still doesn't make any sense unless he explains."

LEAVE THE MAN ALONE! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, HE DOES NOT HAVE ACCESS TO BBQ SAUCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Though apparently he does have access to a Weber grill)
