A lot of affiliates are claiming to be "non-US" simply because their sites are hosted offshore or their company is incorporated internationally. I was corrected in a previous post that I made by someone who informed me that offshore incorporation or hosting MAY not be enough to shield affiliates from fallout from this thing. American citizens/residents may find themselves exposed to some degree as well.

I am not a lawyer (yet). I do not know how much truth there is to the above, nor will anyone else until the DOJ formulates their interpretation/enforcement guidelines, but thought i'd pass it on.

FWIW, Party sent a mass email to its affiliates today claiming that even US-affiliates will be unaffected...although all affiliates will stop getting credit for their US players' play from the time the bill is actually signed. But re: US-based-affiliates, the email read:

"Will affiliates from the USA continue to be allowed to be a part of PartyPartners?

The restrictions apply only to customers located in the USA. There are no new restrictions that prevent affiliates based in the USA from promoting PartyGaming brands to non-US players."

There's absolutely zero reason for US based affiliates to shut down. Affiliates are in the business of advertising, not taking wagers. Not even Party Poker is cutting off their US affiliates. Maybe they'll ban online advertising for poker sites in the future, but they haven't done so yet.

Didn't both the Travel Channel and the Sporting News both get in hot water with the government and pay huge fines for accepting ad dollars from offshore gambling ops?

Paradise had money seized by the DOJ through the Travel Channel after trying to advertise on the Travel Channel. I do not think they paid any fine though.

RakeBacks.com will be included in this list shortly. We're moving our operation overseas and plan to be finished before the end of October.
