Big jackpot last night. 5:50 pm, hit for something around $130k at a 5-150 table. They had $100k added until 6 pm and two minutes later my table just missed with aces full of jacks beating jacks full of aces, we needed a jack on the river. I think they'll do this promotion during the weekdays until 6 pm so if you play lower than 20-40 you'll notice people checking big hands if two aces are on board.

I'll say hi if I see you today (have you shaved your beard lately)?

Guy on my right said he got a table share of over 4K. I think the 100K added is only on Tuesday's, but other days also have promos, maybe adding 25K or so.

Of local touristy things (I'll Google later) what would you rec:

Phoenix Botanical Gardens

Arizona Science Center

Taliesen West

Heard Museum

Old Town Scodsdale

My friend was interested in the locations of the best strip clubs.

PS I should be in about 4:00pm. No more beard, probably will wear light cargo pants with a white polo shirt underneath a blue striped shirt worn in sort of a modified preppy look except I forgot my Sperry Topsiders and will be wearing sneakers. I'm 52 but people say I don't look a day over 50.

Hmm, botanical gardens or strip club? Tough one...

Let me preface this by saying I've only lived here three years and my wife had a baby two years ago, so I've never had time to go to the clubs (strip or otherwise). I was never that interested because I came from Portland where nude dancing is constitutionally protected and enthusaistically practised.

I've been to the Botanical Garden, it's fine if you like looking at all the different varieties of cactus. Drink lots of water as it's almost all outside.

Taliesen West is interesting, a little cooler as much of the tour goes inside. There are a variety of tours and they can take a couple hours each, I've been told the key to a good tour is getting a tour guide who will dish the gossip on Frank Lloyd Wright.

Old Town is a fine place to eat and drink, lots of nice bars and restaurants. One I liked before I became housebound was The Old Tortilla Factory, you can sit outside and enjoy some killer margaritas.

Your friend might also want to check out the Radius nightclub just reopened after $1.5M renovation, massive LED lighting system, liquid nitrogen fog machines in ceiling that instantly drop temp 15 degrees, that sort of thing.

So you shaved your beard and no longer wear your confederate uniform? It's going to be difficult to recognise you then

Embassy Suites is about 15 min away and a bit pricy but you get free happy hour 3 hrs and all you can drink.
Rooms are nice with couch TV Seperate bedroom.

Bathroom is a tad small but the room is worth it. Also during happy hour there is free food. (weenie tots and stuff)

This place (Inn at Pima) you only get a singlee free beer or wine and some munchies with good convesation from a hot [censored] bartendeer at five pm. But that's OK, I don't think I'd want to drink for three hours before I play, OTOH it seems many of my late night opponents were.
