French press is the way to go. A drip machine makes no sense since you hate coffee. It takes valuable counter space.

OK - I am sold on the French Press. Now what kind of coffee do I get? She mentioned a week ago or so that she had bought some Hazelnut that she really liked. That has to be a kind of flavored coffee. Will I go to the store and find some coffee beans that are that flavor?

You should skip the french press and go with Wynton's advice. It is easier and cheaper. If you get a french press you have to make sure you're not using to fine a grind, or you will be drinking gritty coffee. All coffee is better with fresh-ground beans, but I think this is especially true of the press.

The French press is the only way to go although her drinking flavored coffee makes me wonder if she'll truly get how wicked you are for knowing the French press is the goods.

Coffee should be ground coarse for french press, if you buy some ground coffee she'll end up it eating it, find a local roaster and have them grind it for a french press they'll know.

I've been a coffee addict for 15+ years. French press is the only way to go.

Coffee is a personal preference type of thing.

Ask her what she likes.

For instance, I drink coffee (lots) everyday and would freak-out if someone replaced my coffee maker with a French Press (or French anything for that matter). Those things make nasty coffee. Blaaaaa
