his "huge debt" led to the greatest period of prosperity since the 50s, [/ QUOTE ] And a drastically inflated monetary supply in the early part of century created the "roaring twenties." What's your point? Moreover, it's very un-Goldwater to do that. |

His War on Drugs is something i dont think Goldwater would support at all, as its wasteful, unwinnable and just plain stupid.

Goldwater was very un-Republican. [/ QUOTE ] lmao. back on ignore. Kennedy was very un-Democrat, but thats about the last time until Bush that a President has had policies that run so directly against his party's grain. |

[ QUOTE ] Goldwater was very un modern Republican. [/ QUOTE ] FYP [/ QUOTE ] Considering the roots of the Republican party, I'd say the neo-cons are more examplary of the original Republicans than small government Goldwater types. It's kind of silly that "Republican" issues can run the gamut from libertarianism (Goldwater) to big, invasive Federalists (Lincoln/neocons) |

Well, since pro-choice means against government bannings of abortion, I figured anti-choice (pro-life) would mean the opposite.

Well, since pro-choice means against government bannings of abortion, I figured anti-choice (pro-life) would mean the opposite. [/ QUOTE ] I just find it odd that the term "anti-choice" is only used to those who favor restrictions on abortion. Why isn't it equally applicable to those who favor restrictions on gun ownership, drug use, gambling, or any other issue you want to pick. And by the same logic, why aren't those who favor gun ownership etc...referred to as "pro-choice?" |
