Re: I Don\'t Know what he has, So I call.
I like a nice raise pf too. Completing isnt terrible, but not the best idea.
On to the hand. I like the flop bet, nice pot with TP2k The turn check isnt as bad as most make it out to be, but I like a bet here. TPGK in an unraised pot is good often. The river, I like a little bigger bet, and then just calling his raise. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Green Plastic recommends only raising AJ+ in this spot [/ QUOTE ] I don't agree, but would like to hear his reasoning. KQs > AJo anyway, so still raise preflop. [/ QUOTE ] Really? equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 56.3233 % 56.08% 00.24% { AJo } Hand 2: 43.6767 % 43.44% 00.24% { KQs } [/ QUOTE ] Comparing them heads up all-in preflop is kinda silly here. I'm saying you'll win more money on a K high or Q high flop with KQ than on an A high flop with AJo. |

Re: I Don\'t Know what he has, So I call.
I also complete preflop. See MSNL for a discussion about raising (TT) out of the blinds and the pros and cons of raising good but marginal hands in this spot
Flop bet is fine, but I'd check often here Turn check is fine River lead is standard. The call of the raise is fine after his check behind on the turn |

There are more dominated aces that will call a raise and a bet with TP than dominated Kings. And to say KQ>Aj means exactly that. |

Bet the turn, I call the river. Sucks if he sucked out.

[/ QUOTE ] True, but you'll get more 2nd pair/bottom pair/small pp hands to call a bet on a K or Q high flop than and an A high flop. Plus the added straight and flush value of KQs makes raising with it a touch more valuable than raising AJo from SB. But arguing about which is more valuable to raise with isn't really the point, since I raise/complete with both ~85%/15%. What is GP's reason for only raising AJo+? And what factors does he consider in determining which hands = the "+"? Since by your reasoning earlier, a small pp is "+" AJo, do you also raise 33? |

I really, really dont care what GP says. This is a raise pf all day. [/ QUOTE ] Yea that guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Please respect my ability to play basic poker. If I complete the SB and don't question whether or not that is a good play in my post, I had reasons for doing it and am not putting that part of the hand up for scrutiny. Against bad players, as in this hand, there is too little difference EV wise to give it major discussion. |
