Re: Official New York Jets will break .250 Thread
[ QUOTE ]
My plan to play whatever defense played the Jets each week has backfired [/ QUOTE ] That was obviously a bad plan (yes, I'm being results oriented). My observations (some pretty consistent with other posters): - Pennington [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] - Dyson [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] - We need to figure out how to run the ball, probably didn't help that Kendall left early and we had 3 rookies standing next to each other on the O-Line. Next week I'd like to see Houston get some carries, more of Barlow and maybe even throw Washington in the backfield on 3rd and short. - Bryan Thomas looks good at OLB in the 3-4. We still need more of a pass rush. Collins had way too much time. With the exception of Barrett our DB's looked excellent though. - I thought Dewayne played the Nose well, especially lining up opposite Mawae. - Is Drew Bennett that good? Or is David Barrett that bad? - Nugent, WTF? |

I'd also like to point out that in his career Chad now has 43 tds and zero picks in the red zone. That's pretty ridiculous, right?

[/ QUOTE ] wow, i didn't realize this, but pennington has never made too many mistakes passing the ball anyway. On the whole, a great win, but it was against the Titans and without a running game, I don't see how they can continue this success. |

He is ridiculously smart, accurate and doesn't make stupid mistakes. How many times has he fumbled in OUR red zone though? |

Look familiar?
"DE John Abraham, ATL: Strained his groin, and the team is uncertain whether he will be able to go next week." |

(We need his pass rush though, sorely lacking right now.) [/ QUOTE ] I'm definitely not disagreeing with this, but what did you think of Bryan Thomas yesterday? He did have a sweet sack and he looked comfortable dropping into coverage as an OLB. I'm also pretty sure he batted a pass down at the line on the Titans last drive too. Hopefully he can keep that up. |

Re: Official New York Jets will break .250 Thread
I liked what I saw from 99. This scheme seems to suit him a bit better, so hopefully he can keep it up. Ellis needs to step up though, or we're going to have to start sending Barton or something. If we give Brady as much time next week as we did Collins/Young this week we'll be out of it by the middle of the second quarter. And that's assuming the Pats play as badly as they did yesterday.
