Nah, pf doesn't matter that much. Against regulars you see a lot of, I don't mind mixing it up at all. I know there are a handful of guys who'll be able to peg down my range pretty well when I 3bet out of the BB, so I mix it up sometimes too.

[/ QUOTE ]
If this is the case then you really need to expand your range. If people are giving you too much respect when you 3-bet from the bb then start 3-betting all sorts of hands like T9s etc.

[/ QUOTE ]
So getting too little respect when 3betting out of the BB is unequivocally better than getting too much respect when calling out of the BB?

thehip,

by not reopening the betting preflop you never give the lagtag the opportunity to cap you light with 87s and similar hands, which is honestly burning monay.

Yes, I know, results oriented.

To be honest miles, I 3bet this 90%+ I just decided to not three bet in this instance.

My usual line against a very aggressive post flop player is to three bet good aces, and most pairs, and suited boardways.

and with Ax hands and pairs like 66 on a J85 board, I just bet call the flop, then go into call down mode depending on the board texture.

And my avatar is money burning, so I have a reputation to live up to.

If thehip41 played QQ like this every time, then yes he would be burning money. He made a nonstandard play on every street, Im sure he knows what he's doing. I wouldnt question him.

No, basically every time I play with thehip41 and he makes some weird play, I'm like "WTF was that about?" and he always comes back explaining in great detail why he did what he did. And then im like "Damn, I didnt realize that, NH."

Well thehip41 did somehow find a way to get 6BB's out of this guy on the turn+river, so speaking from a results oriented perspective, I think he did something right.

BTW, you can change your location now, that was sooooooo 24 hours ago.

That's why I posted this hand, to get positive feedback. RunDown gave me a good turn analysis that I really didn't factor in when I donk bet. It's like, he will fold low PP, just call down with medium hands, and aces, and raise good 2nd best hands.

The problem is, there are only a few over pairs and sets, and two pair hands he can raise + call down with.

I just happen to ick the one super retardo LAG to put in 6BB vs. me with A9s on a Q98xx board.

I don't know how I do it, but ILP marvels at some of my hands sometimes, because he just plays his super bot style, and never ventures from it.

So I don't know why I played this hand this way, but it sure worked out.

yessir,

its just that since lagtags in position are so cap-happy i dont like missing the chance with monsters you know. i also think i tie him to showdown more (w/ medium aces for instance). and also give him a chance to float me up instead of having to "come alive" later.
