Win rate in the blinds is going to be *extremely* dependent on limit. I'd say more dependent than button or CO win rates, for example.

I ran a tiny profit in the SB over my last 30k hands of 5/10, and around -0.04 overall over 60k hands. No way in hell I can manage that at 10/20, no matter how well I play.

I don't think you could maintain is easily at 5/10. Beyond limits, I think variance is King. I also think the advice on playing the blinds varies a great deal from limit to limit. Playing mediocre hands from the SB/BB at 10/20 I think is much more correct than at 5/10.

I'm at 0.02 in the SB, and (0.18) through my first 9k hands at 3/6. Surprised to see the SB is positive.

Thanks a lot, Krishan.

I asked because I've been noticing my sb defense numbers were pretty much in line with most people, but that I defended BB much, much less.

Interestingly, I appear to be at the high end of losses in the bb, and doing pretty well from the sb.

It would be great if there was one thread correlating the loss numbers with the defense numbers (not to mention my own personal interest in 3-betting numbers from the blinds). Is there any such thread?

Oh, one more thing: I'd be very interested to know how often people defend BB when the sb open-raises.

Is anyone aware of a thread that recites those numbers?

(I am searching for that too, but it's not so easy.)

I find this stuff fascinating and think blind play and steal/defense play is one of the largest "unsolved" frontiers of limit hold 'em.

A couple points - the less avg players you have, the higher (better) your blinds win rate should be, so in order to compare apples to apples, everyone needs to filter for EXACTLY 6 handed. (can you do that for position stats?)

secondly, blind structure also matters a lot, so comparing 5/10 to 10/20 is not a fair copmarison.
