If you took a formal poll, the majority would find that telling someone they should have taken a shot vs. a player and discussing it afterwards is inappropriate.

You were talking about someone right in front of them. In almost any social circumstance that would be considered inappropriate and even rude. And by judging from your reaction to any dissenting view on this thread, I would imagine that your conversation started the conflict and your reaction probably escalated it. If I were a betting man (and I just happen to be one) I would say your attitude is -EV. And mixed with this Rocco fella's, who is prolly about the same ,we get it all in!!
