1. What's your ratio of time spent playing to studying the game?

2. What's your day job if your not a pro?

3. What the biggest pot you ever won?

4. Do you run accross pros at Full Tilt? If so, can you post any interesting hands with them?

5. Why to you play limit instead of no-limit?

Ok. I never know when to lay down hands. I think I should have folded this on the turn? Does the turn call always imply a river call? I think so right?

Party Poker 2.00/4.00 Hold'em <font color="#0000FF">(10 handed)</font> link

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">5 folds</font>, BB calls, UTG calls.

Flop: (6.50 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">UTG bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, BB folds, UTG calls.

Turn: (5.25 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
UTG checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG raises</font>, Hero calls.

River: (9.25 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG bets</font>, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 11.25 BB.

[/ QUOTE ]
this hand is completely opponent dependent, but usually you should either be folding to the turn raise or calling down. My standard line at 2/4 would be to fold to the turn raise.

so this is like a "well" type thing? ok then.
you have like 100x more posts than me, but just for the record, can you provide your credentials for giving excellent advice? a lifetime graph would also be neat.

what kind of changes have you had to make in your game moving up from 2/4?
what were the most difficult levels to jump?
how many times have you had to move down?

[/ QUOTE ]
I don't have too many hands stored on this computer, but quickly I've played poker for about 2 years now and worked my up from playing 1/2 online to as high as 30/60 (took one shot at 50/100) and 80/160 live. I mostly play in the 10/20 to 15/30 range online and 20/40 to 30/60 live. fwiw, I win money and think I play good, but of course that's up for debate.

Like I said to the previous poster learning that calling is ok is a big step imo for most people. Also learning how to hand read becomes very important as well.

[ QUOTE ]
how do you like to determine where the line should be drawn between making a good value raise, and a raise that will only be called by hands that are beating you while folding out hands that you beat?

[/ QUOTE ]
depends on opponenet obviously, but usually I save my thin value raises for retards so I don't have to worry about what they are calling with.

[ QUOTE ]

Since this will vary widely from player to player, i'll draw some parameters. assume the guy isn't the call down w/ any pair guy, assume your table image isn't reckless, and assume that your opponent is capable of at least some level 1 thinking.

Here are two examples where I couldn't decide if I should 3-bet or not (and did):

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls, <font color="#666666">4 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP3 raises</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG calls, MP3 calls.

Flop: (10 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, UTG calls, MP3 calls.

Turn: (6.50 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG raises</font>, MP3 folds, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. MP3 posts a blind of $2. CO posts a blind of $2.
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP2 calls, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, SB calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>.

Flop: (9 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP2 calls, SB calls.

Turn: (6 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 raises</font>, SB folds, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>

[/ QUOTE ]
I don't 3-bet either of those and it's not for reasons of never getting called by worse, but that I don't think we are ahead often enough in either situation combined with the fact that if they are bluffing it will be more profitable to let them bluff the river compared to having them fold now. Hand 2 seems closer to hand 1 though.
