I can't take credit for this, this is my brother's axiom on bad beats:
“The world is full of bad beat stories, and supply exceeds demand” So from an economic standpoint, the only way to rectify this situation is to charge people to listen to their bad beat stories (poker or otherwise). Everyone who has taken basic economics knows that eventually a price will be arrived at where supply and demand meet and everyone will be happy. I probably would never have to listen to a bad beat story again, because my price would be too high – maybe $100 each – whereas I’m sure there are plenty of people who would do it for 50 cents. |
