Re: J9s steal (4handed)
Getting 3 bet here would be pretty bad though.
I think the hand is okay. Preflop is standard. The flop is fine because our hand is stronger than usual and it's not that big of a deal to protect our hand here. Keep him bluffing with weak kings and aces, as well as small pp and draws that we probably counterfeit. The turn could be a raise if he was less aggressive and the pot was bigger, but a call is fine here. |

Re: J9s steal (4handed)
Hi all. I find HU very difficult, and find this type of hand interesting - thanks for posting.
I have two questions. 1) What is the best line if an overcard A/K/J falls on the river, and SB bets (I think I would call) or checks (I think I would check)? 2) Is there an advantage in raising the turn that overcards (e.g A3 played earlier) could fold, protecting your hand against hands that won't call a river bet anyway? Sorry, three... 3) If raising the turn, fold to re-raise? and fold to call + river donk?? |

Any A is frequently going to show down here UI. [ QUOTE ] 3) If raising the turn, fold to re-raise? and fold to call + river donk?? [/ QUOTE ] You have an OESD + possible 2pr/trips outs here, so there's basically no way to get away from this pre-river. I'd probably call the river hoping he has 77 or something but I'm not positive about that one. |

Re: J9s steal (4handed)
SB seems like a pretty agro. guy. On the previous hand you reised him on turn, so if he's one of the observent ones I would change my tactics into reising and caping the flop if given the opportunity in hopes for a free turn.
If he leads the turn on a blank I would just call his bet and if I don't improve on the river I would fold. |
