i'm just gonna say that sublime's list is questionable. just throwing that out there.

my list in no particular order:

Sin City
Casino
The Shawshank Redemption
Little Miss Sunshine
Rounders (even though it's not an actual good movie, it's about poker and is very quotable)

rounding out the top eight are Goodfellas, Crash, and Office Space.

Little miss sunshine hu? My girlfriend wants to go see that but, I wasn't sure if i wannted to go. But now i will.

I'm really like
sin city and shaw shank, very good very good

LMS was awesome. there's LOL comedy and tear-jerking drama, which aren't so common in the same movie. it might not stay in the top five, but it was just the best movie i've seen recently.

Not trying to be a dick but there were films made before the year 2000.

i grew up in a strict christian household and we were not allowed to watch anything even borderline offensive. it was not until 2002 when i moved out that i started watching movies. sorry for not being as cultured as you.

Sorry if I came across as offensive. Just was saying you seem to be missing out on sooo many wonderful and eyeopening movies. I'm a snob though so meh.

[/ QUOTE ]

do you recommend any?

i hear that national treasure was kick ass and i was going to rent it tomorrow. have you seen it?

[/ QUOTE ]

My top 5 listed above are amazing films. Also if you liked 'Layer Cake', Guy Richie's two previous films 'Snatch', and 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' are far superior.

I rewatched Sin City today, and it's rewatchability is pretty high. Bruce Willis was really impressive, normally I'm not much of a fan but Hartigan was pretty awesome.

Rewatchability (is that a word?) is a big factor in terms of personal favorites. Many that I would consider top all time wouldn't make my fav list. It's so hard to limit to 5, so I'll just list comedies.

The Big Lebowski
Rushmore
Office Space
Caddyshack
Zero Effect

Shawshank Redemption
Goonies
Fried Green Tomatoes
The Big Lebowski
Stand by Me / The Breakfast Club (tie)

This is really hard...I LOVE watching movies. I could sit inside and drink/smoke/eat and watch movies for days on end.

#1 Favorite - Field of Dreams

Next 4, no particular order:
Shawshank
Major League
Weird Science
Back to Future

As the subject of the thread said, I listed my five favorite movies, not necessarily the movies I think are the best movies of all time.
