[ QUOTE ] On our flag, is the top stripe red or white? [/ QUOTE ] this is a bad example. i'd say a large % of people dont pay close enough attention to our flag to give a [censored] which stripe comes first. unfortunately, this thread will be full of similar examples [/ QUOTE ] it's not a bad example. even if you haven't paid that much attention to the flag, just think to yourself, how dumb would it look if the white stripe was on top? pretty dumb. ok it must be red on top. |

Re: Easy questions people get wrong
If a president serves 2 years or less as a successer to a president who leaves office (dies/resigns/impeached) he can then run for two more terms

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] what's the longest someone can serve as president of the US of A? [/ QUOTE ] 10 yrs [/ QUOTE ] Limited to 2 elections. If he served final 2 yrs of previous President (ie VP of President who dies, etc), only one election. So, 10 yrs, minus one day. 22nd Amendment [/ QUOTE ] |

[ QUOTE ]
what's the longest someone can serve as president of the US of A? [/ QUOTE ] I think it would be 12 years. If the president-elect dies on the day of his inauguration, then the VP would serve the 4 years in his place, then could be elected twice. Right? |

Re: Easy questions people get wrong
[ QUOTE ]
What are some questions that seem easy, but people seem to get wrong? I have one that i have asked over 20 college students and none of them have gotten it right, If you are running a race that you have not been lapped in, and you pass the person in 2nd place, what place are you in? The only person that got this right is my mother lol [/ QUOTE ] The answer to this question can be that I'm in 1st place if I'm lapping the 2nd place contestant on this pass. Right? Who's stupid now? There's an easy question for you. See if you can get it right. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] st johns and everyone says 1st for some reason, i dont understand how stupid these people are, does anyone have any questions like this that seem simple but for some reason people get them wrong? [/ QUOTE ] [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] St. John's basketball This question is not an issue of intelligence. It's whether or not a person took the time to think through the question carefully. And being unobservant, or ignorant, does not necessarily mean one is stupid. -Al [/ QUOTE ] FMP But Daryn's explanation is a good one for why the stripe question, answered incorrectly, is pretty dumb. -Al |

Re: Easy questions people get wrong
Heres one that most people don't get right:
A guy on a deadline has to drive from his office to point B and back. All he knows is that he must average 60 mph for the entire trip to make it on time. He didn't do so good getting there, in fact, he only averaged 30 mph. How fast must he drive on the return to make his deadline? |
